Cantilevered Gate for Remote Site

NZ Steel’s Taharoa ironsands mining site is 500 km by road from our Petone factory. That was no obstacle when asked to supply a large cantilevered gate for vehicle access control.

The ironsand deposit at Taharoa near Kawhia is New Zealand’s largest.  The site covers 1,600 hectares and is an important source of raw material for the production of export steel. Asked to design and build a heavy-duty cantilevered gate with full automation for the ironsands mine site, our team came up with a solution that would not only meet functional requirements at the entrance, but would be delivered ready for a local contractor to easily install. Getting the automatic cantilevered sliding gate operational was as easy as “plug ‘n play.”

This project demonstrates that for us at Gateman, distance is no object to production and supply, even for the largest industrial gate with the most detailed automation specs. Listed on our Cantilevered Gates product page as gate C8.
