Taylor Preston Ltd.

Taylor Preston Limited operates a major meat processing plant in Ngauranga Gorge, Wellington. To maintain security and control over the busy premises as stock trucks arrive and depart with great regularity to supply the plant and keep its large labour force busy, Taylor Preston asked us to supply a new vertical-tube-style automatic sliding gate at their heavy-vehicle entrance.

So pleased with their main entrance gate was the company that plans for a new cold store included another heavy-duty cantilevered gate, pictured here in testing at the Gateman yard in Petone.

While this gate would be installed fully automated, its engineering precision is demonstrated by the ease with which one person can manually open and close it.  Different from the gate above in that it is made using link chain mesh, but as with all our heavy industrial gates the product is finished with hot-dip galvanising for extra durability.

And here is the result: the fully automated main gate now operating at Preston Cool Store’s Grenada property, where the company stores its meat products prior to shipment to all parts of the world.
